As a leader in the energy and shipping sector, how have you seen the role of women evolve in this traditionally male-dominated space?

The maritime industry is no longer a man’s world. Historically, women were primarily seen in land-based support roles. Today, we are witnessing a significant shift. Women are serving as seafarers, marine engineers, technical superintendents, and in other operational leadership positions. Their presence is expanding across both shore and sea, contributing meaningfully to technical, commercial, and strategic functions.

Shipping is the backbone of global trade; why is a gender-diverse leadership team  essential for navigating international complexities?

To operate and thrive in an increasingly complex and interconnected world, diversified thinking is essential. Different perspectives lead to stronger decision-making, improved risk assessment, and more innovative problem-solving. A gender-diverse leadership team enhances our ability to navigate geopolitical shifts, regulatory changes, and evolving customer expectations with greater resilience and foresight.

How does "Giving" a platform to female talent help MOL India "Gain" a competitive edge in the energy transition?

By giving women meaningful platforms to contribute and lead, we strengthen the diversity of perspectives within the organisation. In a period of transformation such as the energy transition, progress depends not only on technology, but on how we think, question, and anticipate change. Diverse viewpoints challenge conventional assumptions and enable more balanced, forward-looking decisions. In this way, inclusion is not a social initiative; it is a strategic enabler that sharpens our competitiveness and resilience in a rapidly evolving global environment.

What is your strategy for ensuring that MOL India remains a "Great Place to Work" for women in the long term?

Our focus is not limited to women alone; it is about creating an environment where everyone can thrive. By following the MOL CHARTS values ensuring fairness, accountability, respect, teamwork, and safety, we create a culture where happiness and professional growth go hand in hand. Consistency in these values is what sustains a truly inclusive workplace over the long term.

When we talk about #OneMOL synergy , how does the participation of women strengthen our regional narrative?

Without diversity of ideas, organizations risk generating uniform and orthodox outcomes. Women bring differentiated perspectives that enrich discussions and strengthen collaboration across regions. Their participation enhances #OneMOL synergy by fostering innovation, adaptability, and a more balanced global narrative.
