From Ship to Shore
Captain Vraghavan spent 12 years sailing across oceans leading crews, solving problems and taking decisions under deadlines. Today, he brings that same mindset to his role at MOL.

No lights. No ship. Just darkness.
One night at sea, officer of the watch reported that radar showed a target dead ahead however visually, there was nothing. No lights. No ship. Just darkness. Visibility was good, still nothing. But the radar was right. We were in a narrow channel, we took action just in time. That moment still guides how he works today: Stay calm. Act fast. Trust your tools. Trust your team.
I miss the open air
"I miss the open air after a day of stressful port operations, Counting the Biriyanis left, the satisfaction of navigating a difficult channel
I don't miss the bread butter pudding of our CCK. inspections and audits in every port"
Qualities that shaped his crew
At sea, Captain Vijayaraghavan led the team with focus, resilience, and compassion - qualities that shaped his crew and decisions. Today, he brings that same leadership to MOL. We're proud to have him on shore, guiding teams, solving challenges, and inspiring those around him.
Because the best lessons from the sea don't stay on the ship they stay with the leader.
